Now the 'Golden Trio' are back at Hogwarts, and they are searching for the objects to stop Voldemort. Along with that, there's a new Headmaster! And that Headmaster is summoning many Aurors to watch over Hogwarts. Do you think the Death Eaters will care? No!

Moonlight Cries(Tonks/Open) « Thread Started on Dec 31, 2007, 11:36pm »
The moon was half full, sending out jagged bits of light accenting through out the inky black sky. The grounds were dark, lit up if different places by the moon, and a figure walked quickly. Her blond hair got into her eyes, and she hastily pushed it away. Dressed in dark black robes, with yellow pieces, the figure gazed around before hurrying into the forest. It was stupid, there were creatures in there but the figure didn't care. She had been surrounded by people all day and just managed to slip away. She needed time alone, and the forest provided that comfort.
Leaning against one of the trees, the young woman allowed tears to fall from her eyes. Alone, thats what she was. Looking up at the castle, she felt isolated. She figured that she would feel better if she went to her real parents, but she didn't know how they would act. Besides, they were in Slytherin, she was a Hufflepuff. She was pretty much a disgrace. Shaking her head, she slipped down, holding her knees to her chest, sobbing very quietly.

How many times had she been here? How many times had something gone 'bump' in the night? How many times had she been scared out of her wits? Yet somehow she kept going back. Kept returning to the place where she had first met them. Them meaning the creatures. The creatures meaning the centaurs, the giant spiders, the unicorns, everything.
Yet how many times had she seen someone leaning against the side of a tree, crying. Once, and that included this time.
Cautiously, if not ungracefully, Tonks moved toward the girl. She tripped on a root (that darned root was either the one that she always tripped on, or all the roots looked the same) and almost fell flat on her face, yet somehow managed to stay upright. By that time the girl had fallen to the ground, and was sobbing full-out, albeight quietly. Knowing she'd already made too much of a ruckus (hey, that's what Tonks did), she quietly (who would have ever thought Tonks to be quiet!) stepped past the rest of the roots, and stood near the girl.
"Having a hard time?" She asked quietly, wondering what had the girl sad.

There were noises, and Astara didn't look. If she didn't look, it would seem like a dream. And she would be less likely to freak out. However, her hand seeped into her pocket and gripped her wand, just in case. She didn't want anyone to jump out at her and not be able to fight back. But then, there was a voice. And she nearly jumped out of her skin, eyes darting around and setting upon Tonks. Nodding simply, Astara let herself relax slightly. But her hand was still on her wand. Once again, just in case.
"You could say that." Astara replied, choking back her tears. With her free hand, she wiped away her tears, not wanting to cry in front of anyone. Realizing that Tonks was an adult, Astara wondered if she was going to get into trouble. It wouldn't matter anyway, she was normally getting into trouble. She took her eyes away from Tonks as she looked straight ahead. Feeling weak because of crying, she didn't look back at Tonks. There was just too much thoughts and emotions running through her mind that it made her head hurt.

"You could say that" the girl said as she looked up to Tonks. For some reason, Tonks couldn't place the name with the face. Maybe this was the first time meeting the girl, which seemed to be not likely, as she knew many people here. But, say it was a first... this girl had characteristics that ... Narcissa Malfoy? Could that be right? Not at all, she thought sullenly as she looked at the girls' robes. They were of Hufflepuff colors, not Slytherin.
"Want to talk about it?" Tonks, ever ready to help, asked politely. She really didn't like to see anyone crying, and she really could not stand watching people cry when she could do something about it. She would much rather talk things out than fight. That was impossible with Death Eaters, who would much rather fight than talk things out. But this girl was no Death Eater, and was not a Slytherin. She might want to talk.

"You would think I was crazy." Astara replied rather glumly. She never really spoke about her problems, and the number one problem she had? Solaris. She looked back at Tonks, not wanting to be rude. One thing she hated being was rude, so she tried to be more kinder. "Sorry. I just think that you will think I'm crazy. I don't believe it sometimes." She shook her head, laughing softly. Wait, she didn't have to talk about Solaris right? Why not talk about the whole adopted thing? She didn't have to say who her real parents were, but she could get some perspective.
"There is one thing. I know I'm adopted. Thing is, I don't know if I should get hold of my real parents. I know who they are, I just don't know if I should go see them." Astara always wondered why she was adopted and hopefully she could get an answer if she saw them. Otherwise she would continue to live life without the answer. She had done that for over three years so it wasn't going to harm if she waited longer.

"You would think I was crazy." The girl replied almost immediately. But what was crazy? In the Muggle world everything wizarding was crazy. In the wizarding world, what was crazy? The magical dragons? The Death Eaters (okay, they were crazy in their minds), the way people could transform at the new moon? Everything, according to Tonks, was crazy. She was crazy! She could change her appearance whenever she wanted! How crazy is that?
"There is one thing. I know I'm adopted. Thing is, I don't know if I should get hold of my real parents. I know who they are, I just don't know if I should go see them." The girl continued to say. It was strange, really, that the girl told her that stuff. But, she realized, she was a good person for keeping secrets. "Anything else that's bothering you?"

Astara was surprised that Tonks was letting her rant. It felt nice to speak about what was bothering her and not have to explain or say why she felt that way. Some of her friends would just hound her about why she was feeling this, what she was feeling, have you tried not feeling it. It got annoying after a while yet Astara didn't say anything. And was there anything else? Yes there was. The feeling of being alone, eternally alone. Without her real family, she really didn't feel like she had much of a place at Hogwarts. Plus the whole Solaris thing didn't help matters.
"The fact that I feel eternally alone. Oh, not to mention my sadistic alter ego which I work tirelessly to stop her from surfacing?" Astara gulped slightly, wishing she hadn't said that last part. Well, it was too late now. Astara couldn't take back what she said. She just had to hope for the best.

Tonks watched the girl as her face grew far off. No doubt she was thinking of what to say. Maybe she was thinking of how to say it, or it was even more possible the girl was thinking she was crazy. Hadn't Tonks already been over that? She was crazy. They all were. But being crazy had nothing to do with what the woman heard next.
"The fact that I feel eternally alone. Oh, not to mention my sadistic alter ego which I work tirelessly to stop her from surfacing?" Well, the girl was crazy. But, for her part, Tonks just smiled. She knew people like that. She lived with people like that trying to killer day in and day out. "An alter ego, you say?" Tonks wasn't sure if that sounded cruel and uncaring, but she added, "this alter ego hates your guts?" Another thing to say that came out very wrong, but it was too late now.
